Oasis Assisted Living
Oasis isn't just a shelter — it's a second chance at dignity.
Located at C837, Lorong OC8/2, Simpah Utara, 48100 Batu Arang, Selangor, we provide compassionate care for those living with HIV/AIDS, displaced refugees, and homeless individuals affected by substance addiction.
At Oasis, we understand the profound challenges faced by our residents. Our dedicated team offers comprehensive support tailored to individual needs, encompassing medical care coordination, mental health counseling, life skills training, and nutritional guidance. We foster an environment of healing and empowerment, where each person is seen, heard, and valued.
What sets Oasis apart is our holistic and non-judgmental approach, specifically designed to address the complex needs of our diverse community. For those living with HIV/AIDS, we ensure access to vital medications and health monitoring, coupled with education and support to manage their condition with confidence. Displaced refugees receive trauma-informed care, legal assistance referrals, and help integrating into a new community, while individuals battling substance addiction are provided with structured recovery programs, peer support, and pathways to sustainable sobriety.
More than just services, Oasis cultivates a welcoming and inclusive community. Here, residents find a safe haven where mutual respect and understanding flourish. Group activities, shared meals, and opportunities for personal growth help forge strong bonds, creating a supportive family environment where everyone can rebuild their lives and look forward to a brighter future.
The Birth of Oasis
The journey began in 1997 with Welcome Community Home, established by the National Office of Human Development under the Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur. The vision was clear: serve the most vulnerable — individuals made homeless due to HIV/AIDS and substance addiction.
Between 2001 and 2003, the shelter provided compassionate care to over 300 individuals, with 170 men passing away peacefully, surrounded by dignity and love.
Our Foundation
Alex Arokiam was appointed as Program Coordinator to lead this mission of providing dignity to those at the end of life.
